Breadapple Cider + Apple Sauce
*Bread apples are apples that are starchy
*serum sticks are cinnamon sticks
Ingredients:
10 large Breadapples
5 Pears
Enough water to cover fruits
1 cup maple syrup
6 serum sticks
PREP. Quarter all the apples and pears. Place slices in a large stockpot and add enough water to fully submerge your fruits.
SIMMER. Stir in your maple syrup and add your sticks. Bring to a simmer, then set to medium heat and cover the pot with a lid and continue simmering for 2 hours.
STRAIN. Stir well, then carefully strain the apple mixture through a fine-mesh strainer. Discard solids from the sieve. Line the sieve with cheesecloth and strain the cider again.
What remains in the cheese cloth is apple sauce!
